inLinking up with Kristen today for Inspire Me Healthy – Week Three!
Where, oh where is my exercise motivation? That is what I need x2 to get over this plateau weight spot. I had a gain this week, but given the time of the month, it was expected… If I have learned anything from my weight gains and losses these past few years, its that my body NEEDS and actually really enjoys exercise. Once I start and get in 4-5x a week, I see results. Pure & simple, right?
I did great at lunch, poorly at dinner with all dinners out of the house this week. Next week I will be traveling for work so I will try my ‘very best’ to watch it and not go overboard when our ‘breaks’ usually contain new company products to taste and our nights are eat, drink and be merry.
‘High’ of the week: packing my lunch three days, one glass of wine.
‘Low’ of the week: No workouts. I’ll admit it, didn’t make it to the gym once.
Goal next week: Limit treats and make good choices while traveling.

Linking up with Jamie for What I’m Loving Wednesday…
1. I’m loving love today. In the past week two friends have welcomed babies into the world, my parents are on a trip celebrating 30 years of marriage, and one of my best friends, Mark got engaged on Saturday. Not to mention, my sister’s wedding video is below, and definitely worth a view! I also attended a wedding shower tonight and have back to back weddings this weekend. Love is all around.
Congrats to Mark and his fiancé Shelly! Over the moon happy for you all.
Kristen + Tim’s video: https://vimeo.com/49750932 {wedding video by ShipShapeStudios – my friend Jordan does weddings and other events – check out the website!}
2. I’m loving old friends. And college. And memories. And talking about college memories with old friends. These two girls are my Jessicas. We don’t have a recent picture of us three (problem) so I stole one off fb of these two beauties. Jessica on the right just moved back to Lexington from Mississippi for her big girl lawyer job. Jessica on the left is pregnant with baby #1 – starting a family with her amazing hubby, Jake. Both Jessica and I were in their wedding, and we were all roommates {Jake unofficially, officially} senior year of college. Absolutely love them and our time catching up last night! Felt just like college when we were eating Graeters ice cream on the couch, gossiping and watching TV.
3. I’m loving Sex and the City. Episodes. Quotes. Always loving it.
5. I’m loving fall decorations. {via pinterest}
Happy Wednesday!

This weekend was nothing short of wonderful.
Friday night started with drinks with the girls at tellers in hyde park to use my expiring living social deal. We enjoyed the buffalo chicken eggrolls, one of my favorite appetizers.
We celebrated a door closing as well, and new opportunities and chapters opening in life. I’ll talk about that more when i’m ready. Below is an instagram pic, borrowed Molly’s door for the shot – how amazing is that front door?
Also discussed our ‘five year plans’ because we are cool like that.
Then we stopped at a karaoke bar for a drink, then finally to end our night at a house party. I wore the beautiful white top I bought in June from Francescas. This night was an unofficial ‘white’ party [of just myself participating].
Saturday I woke up and met the gals for a send-off lunch for Dr. Cassie before she went back to Cleveland. We made our fall bucket lists.
Then I met my mom down in Covington for Oktoberfest. We had a great time walking around with an afternoon beer and looking at all the vendors. This is one of my favorite things to do with her – the worst part – we always end up wanting to buy the same things!
Saturday night was the gender reveal party for Cassie and Troy. The cake was so cute! I KNEW it would be a girl [will be the cutest dressed little one ever]. The expression below is priceless on his face. He was so nervous/anxious. So excited for them – baby Carson is due in February.
Sunday I got up bright and early and picked up Molly for Findlay Market fun. Our goal was to find mums – and we didn’t – but we DID find sunflowers, fall decor and fresh vegetables and fruit.
Then I went to Crossroads to finish up the last of the series, ‘How to love your job’ – which was amazing!
I spent the rest of the day decorating for fall and enjoying my Sunday!
Hope the weekend was just as pleasant for you.

inInspire Me Healthy – Time to link up!
These lovely ladies – Kristen and Raven – have started a link up every Thursday with the title – Inspire Me Healthy. I obviously love the title because it has two of my favorite words, inspire – and what I strive to be – healthy. Let me get it straight, I am healthy but I want to get healthier. Who doesn’t? I’ve picked up some poor habits lately, especially in the past year [working in an office makes you so lazy, and the food, everywhere…#temptationcity]. I want to get back to basics; with portion size, exercise routine and with the fit of my clothes.
I am turning back to ‘ol faithful, Weight Watchers. Oh – and of course, the gym. Its been a while, friends.
Like many weight watcher members [or as my friends and I like to call it – Dub Dub for WW] this isn’t my first time on the program. But I know it works, and it will get me back to a healthier mindset, so that is what I am going to try to get myself back to my goal weight! I am proud to say I have kept off nearly 20 pounds, but at one point I was down 31 pounds from my starting weight. Slowly but surely, with a drink and a bad choice – here, there and everywhere – I gained back 13 pounds since July of 2009. That cannot continue, and its time I make some changes.
I joined WW back in July 2007. I had recently graduated college and had hit my all time highest weight mainly due to lack of exercise, Applebees happy hour [what up, 328 Aylesford Thursday nights!] and not to mention going out 5x a week senior year. To put it bluntly, bad decisions added up and at graduation I looked something like this…
My friend Nicole and I [and roommate freshman year]
Somehow, I was in great shape when I returned from our Europe trip in July 2009. I have no idea how – we ate and drank what we wanted every day, but I guess it was the ‘ol ‘walking more than you realize’ trick every day and the fact that I was a workout queen before we left because I didn’t want to gain ten pounds over the 4 weeks we were gone. Ah…memories…
So what are my goals?
1. Not to be unrealistic…make progress weekly, but not be obsessed with the scale and focus more on the fit of my clothes and how I feel.
2. To lose 15 pounds total [from what I weighed this AM – weigh in days on Thursdays].
3. Get back to the gym and focus on cardio, weights and making a routine.
4. Watching portions and temptations at the office.
5. Motivate others to reach their goals!
And what would a motivational post be without pinterest images?
Link up with us and see what you can achieve!

Posted inspiration, lets get this party started, list, random rant
inI love making lists. It keeps me organized and focused, or maybe I just like to cross things off. Either way, I shared this list of my August/September bucket list with my email train (five of my friends and I have been doing this for five years) a few weeks ago.
Then today I saw a post on Thought Catalog on twitter about a summer bucket list. Loved it. http://thoughtcatalog.com/2012/an-end-of-summer-checklist/. If you don’t follow Thought Catalog on twitter, you should. Always a good read.
Here is my list:
– Throw my sister a great bachelorette (twice, one here, one Nashville) (Last Friday at Yacht Club, check! Nashville this weekend!)
– Findlay Market
– Reds game
– Attend 3 Pure Barre classes (decided 5 was too many and probably won’t happen)
– Soak up time on the deck
– Attend August book club
– Walk to Barleycorns
– Focus on myself (take my strengths finder quiz)
– Use my grill 1x a week (so attainable)
– Pack my lunch 3x a week
– Donate/Sell to Snooty Fox
– Start back on WW
– Have ‘drinks on the deck’ with my neighbors (Thursday – s’mores/wine night)
– Relax
I have a little over the month to accomplish these goals! And I owe a bachelorette recap of the past two weekends. Three bachelorettes down, one more (most important) one to go!
Cheers,
Lauren
