This weekend reminded me of all that is changing and evolving around me. I am changing, my friends are changing and I am just trying to sit back and enjoy the ride.
A few of my friends are having babies, more than a few got married these past couple of years and others are working on themselves, like I am right now. I am still completely happy with where I am in my life right now and the path that I’m on {still trying to figure that out, whatever that might be}.
Friday night was a nice dinner and catch up with two great friends, Nicole and Stephanie. We went to a local favorite restaurant and instead of having a glass of wine, we had two bottles. 🙂
Saturday I had a shopping date with myself at the Loft. I scored these fall orange pants…love.
I met my ‘sex and the city soulmates’ otherwise known as my high school bffs, Stephanie, Ashley and Valerie at First Watch for brunch. {sex and the city soul mates comes from the soulmate episode in Season 4 – guess who is the Samantha of the group…} We’ve been close since senior year of high school and have stayed good friends despite attending different colleges and living in separate cities in the years after graduation. Valerie, who lives in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina, was in town for the weekend to meet Ashley’s new baby Eliza! We had a fabulous time catching up and going around the table going through ‘this is our life’ in as many words as it took to describe what our worlds are like right now. Its amazing where life has taken us, especially in this past year. Babies, career changes, graduations, moves, happy marriages and failed relationships. Its just like Sex and the City. 😉
We shopped around for a bit, then went to Ashley’s to meet sweet baby Eliza, who was four weeks old on Saturday!

My first picture with Eliza!
What a sweetie. Friends with Eliza below. Loved our time together!
I volunteered at an event downtown on Saturday afternoon with work friends. I work for a large consumer goods company, and we sponsored a booth and donated products for the event that helped the Easter Seals. It was a tailgate bash for the season home opener for the Bengals this past Sunday. The event was really fun, and especially gorgeous with this view of the water…
Saturday evening was a last girls night out for a while for my friend Lauren, who was actually induced today and had her sweet baby this afternoon. Below are the proud parents, my friends, Lauren and Erik holding baby Rocco! AND our wonderful friend/nurse, Shannon – who will be delivering my babies someday because she will boss me around when I need it 🙂
So rewind back to Saturday, we had a dinner at PF Changs, where we quickly learned the perks of having a pregnant friend – free appetizers.
After a long dinner we went back to Lauren’s and did something weird. Good stories always start like that, right? We did a belly cast of her baby belly – I heard they recently did this on the Kardashians?
We read the directions, and soon we all were joining in on this odd, but fun event. Wine and laughter flowed. And let it be known that Erik {husband} walked in when we were 3/4 of the way completed. His face was priceless.
Of course we needed to video chat a friend. Allison loved it.
The finished product…
I’d say we captured the pregnant belly pretty well.
Sunday was the Bengals game and dinner with Nicole/helping her join Facebook. Thats right, some people still haven’t caved.
Catch me if you can,
L
